About Me

Welcome to Yoga this (you got this). The focus here is to encourage everyone to try yoga, even if you think it is not for you.

I believe yoga is for everyone.

In the past there has always been a stigma attached to yoga: it is only for skinny hippies (this was perhaps just the stigma in my head). I aim to make yoga accessible to all and to teach you how to improve in your practice. Everyone can benefit from yoga, even if your poses aren’t instagram-worthy.

Coming into the pose

As a small town farm girl, yoga was never part of my life, yet it was always in my head. Growing up, I was clumsy and never destined for anything requiring any amount of elegance. I tried playing the piano, doing ballet, playing netball, you name it – I was always just okay at it.

I have always been intrigued by yoga and meditation, but was never presented with an environment for learning the art of it.

The same year as my 30th birthday, I decided to spend a year in Vietnam. As many travelers would know: once you make one change in your life, you are automatically open to more changes. I was ready to try something new before turning 30 and lo and behold: an invisible force led me to a beautiful yoga studio near my apartment and that is where it all started.

All the teachers and practitioners here were lovely, I felt at home and was just astonished by the amazing community I had (so easily) stepped into. I attended ALL the classes I could attend and I loved it straight away. I didn’t feel clumsy or out of place, there were others just like me, BUT it didn’t matter, because I learned that Yoga is different for everyone and free of judgment and comparison.

Putting the You in yoga

I really want other people to realize their own youniqueness and enable everyone to explore themselves through the practice of yoga. I wish I knew all the things I’ve learned so far, earlier in my life. It would have made so many things easier and I could have been more advanced and confident by now. But no regrets! I just want you to realize these things now. I hope I can help others like me, to get into it easily.

I had wonderful teachers and am eternally grateful for them, I hope that I can now in return, pass my knowledge on.

I am in no way superior and still a beginner! This is why I want to share my knowledge with fellow novices, together we are strong.

Finding your path

This will be a safe space for everyone (especially for beginners or people thinking of getting into it), but everyone is welcome to contribute to an online community of sharing, helping and following.
Here I want to guide you to finding your path, exploring it and becoming more of you.

If you are having doubts about getting started, advancing or just following this path, please feel free to contact me.

All the best,

Daisy
